TapForge Studios

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026
This website, tapforgeapps.com, is operated by TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC) in Crown Point, Indiana, USA. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers this website only: each of our apps has its own privacy policy, linked from its Google Play listing and from its page on this site.
The short version: the site collects very little, shows no ads, and does not sell your personal information.
What the site counts automatically: When you view a page, the site's own visitor counter adds to a set of totals. It records the page address (without anything after a question mark), the date, your country, the website or campaign link you came from (its host name or campaign tag only), and a one-way code made from your IP address, browser and the date, scrambled with a secret value only our server knows. Your country is a two-letter code worked out from your IP address using a table kept on our own server, and the IP address itself is not saved. The one-way code is used only to count how many different visitors came in a day, it cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it is deleted within about two days. The counter does not use cookies.
Server logs: Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. The host holds these logs under its own policies.
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you view (including any search words in the page address), how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location. We do not send Google your name or email address. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). To opt out, you can install Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or block cookies and scripts in your browser.
Contact form: If you message us through the contact form, we store your name, your message, and your email address if you give one, so we can reply. The message is kept in the site's admin inbox, a copy is emailed to our contact address, and a short "new message" alert is sent to our phone through the ntfy notification service (by default the alert contains no names or message text). We use it only to answer you, we keep it as long as we need it for that and for our records, and we do not share it.
Supporting the site: If you contribute through our Support page, the payment is handled by PayPal. PayPal's code is loaded only on that page, and PayPal may set cookies and collect information from your device under its own privacy policy (paypal.com/privacy). Your card number and PayPal login go to PayPal and never reach this site. Our site records only a PayPal order reference and the amount. Our PayPal account also shows us the details of the payment, which can include the name and email address on your PayPal account, and we use those only to record and acknowledge the contribution and to help if something goes wrong.
Videos, Google Play and other links: Some pages show YouTube videos. Until you press play, a video is only a thumbnail image loaded from YouTube's servers, so Google can see your IP address and browser details at that point. When you press play, the video loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com) and YouTube's policies apply. Videos from other services, such as Vimeo, load from that service. Our app pages show a Google Play badge loaded from Google, and the Google Play links we post carry a campaign tag naming this site, so we can see in Google Play how many installs began here; we do not learn who you are from that. When you follow a link to Google Play, YouTube, PayPal or any other site, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Cookies and local storage: This site does not set cookies of its own. Your browser's local and session storage holds a few settings on your own device: your light or dark theme choice, your best scores and recent results on the practice quizzes, and whether you have closed a promotional box or bar. That stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. The cookies described above come from Google Analytics and, if you use the Support page, from PayPal. You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings, though some features, such as remembering your quiz scores, will then stop working.
How we use information: We use information to run and improve the site, to see which calculators, guides and practice questions are useful, to answer messages, to record contributions, and to keep the site secure. We do not show ads, we do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with: We share information only with the services that help us run the site, and only as much as they need: our web host; Google, for analytics and for YouTube and Google Play features; ntfy, for the new-message alert on our phone; and PayPal, if you contribute. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the site, our visitors or our rights. We never sell or rent your personal information.
Where information goes: We are based in the United States, and the services we use may handle information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you visit from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to those countries.
Your choices and rights: You can use almost everything on this site without giving us any personal information. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and to correct or delete it, for example a message you sent, by emailing contact@tapforgeapps.com; we aim to respond within 30 days. You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser, and opt out of Google Analytics as described above. The site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser. Depending on where you live, such as the EU, the UK or California, you may also have the right to object to or limit how we use your information, to get a copy of it, or to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children: This site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email contact@tapforgeapps.com and we will delete it.
Security: The whole site is served over HTTPS, so what travels between your browser and the site is encrypted. Access to contact messages is limited to the site's administrator. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes: We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
Contact: For any privacy question or request, email contact@tapforgeapps.com.
