Privacy Policy — Skysmith

Effective date: July 21, 2026

App: Skysmith (`com.tapforgestudios.skysmith`)

Developer: TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC), Crown Point, Indiana, USA

TapForge Studios ("we", "us") built Skysmith to be genuinely respectful of your privacy. Skysmith has

no user accounts, and we do not operate servers that collect or store your personal information. This

policy explains what the app accesses on your device, what gets sent to the third parties that make the

app work, and the choices you have.

weather data providers. They receive a location and return a forecast; they do not receive your

identity.

the consent choice you make when you first open the app.

Information the app accesses

Location

If you grant location permission, Skysmith uses your device's approximate or precise location for one

purpose: to show the weather where you are. You can instead search for cities by name and never grant

location permission at all. When a forecast is requested, the relevant coordinates are transmitted to

our weather providers (below) over an encrypted connection. We do not store your location on any server

we control; recent forecasts are cached locally on your device so the app works offline.

On-device data (not collected by us)

Your unit preferences, theme, saved/favorite cities, docked panel choice, and the most recent forecast

are saved locally on your device using Android's DataStore. This information stays on your device and is

removed when you uninstall the app. We do not have access to it.

Advertising

The free version of Skysmith shows ads through Google AdMob. Depending on your region and your

consent choice, AdMob may collect and process a device advertising identifier and approximate location to

serve and measure ads. When required (for example, under GDPR), Skysmith presents Google's consent form

the first time you open the app, and you can change your choice later from the app's settings ("Privacy

options"). You can also limit ad personalization in your device's Google settings, or remove ads entirely

by purchasing Skysmith Pro.

Purchases

Skysmith Pro (subscription or one-time purchase) is sold and processed by Google Play Billing. Google

handles the transaction and your payment method; we receive only confirmation of entitlement, never your

card or billing details.

Third parties that receive data

Skysmith relies on the following services. Each has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data:

forecast. https://open-meteo.com/en/terms

States. Receives location coordinates to return active alerts. https://www.weather.gov/privacy

https://policies.google.com/privacy

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, but we chose providers that let

Skysmith work without identifying you to us.

Data security

All network requests use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Because Skysmith stores your data on your own

device and we operate no account system, there is no central database of user information to breach.

Children's privacy

Skysmith is a general-audience weather app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent

minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you

believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data — for example, if we add analytics or crash reporting — we will

update this policy and its effective date, and where appropriate surface the change in the app before it

takes effect.
