Scanvoy Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026 · App: Scanvoy: PDF Scanner & Editor (Android) · Publisher: TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC), Indiana, USA
- Your documents, scans, signatures and extracted text stay on your phone. We don't run a server that receives them, and you don't need an account.
- Scanning, text recognition and file conversion (PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more, and files to PDF) run on your device. Nothing is uploaded to convert it.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device and usage data. You can control personalized ads.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- We don't sell your documents or personal information. Crash reports are sent only if you choose to email one.
1. Who we are
Scanvoy is published by TapForge Studios, a trade name of 99 Cent Apps LLC, a company based in Indiana, USA ("we", "us"). We are responsible for this app. If you have questions about this policy or your data, email contact@tapforgeapps.com.
2. Your documents stay on your device
Everything you create or import in Scanvoy is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. That includes scans, PDFs, annotations, notes, signatures and initials, form entries, text recognized from your pages, reminders, folders and your version history. We don't upload, collect or have access to any of it.
Document scanning and text recognition (OCR) use Google ML Kit, which runs on your device through Google Play services. The recognition models for some languages (for example Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi) are downloaded by Google Play services the first time they're needed. Google's ML Kit collects limited technical diagnostics, such as device model, Android version, app version, processing time and error codes, so Google can keep it working. See the ML Kit data disclosure. Scanvoy doesn't send your images or document text to Google or to us.
File conversion. When you convert a PDF into another format (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, RTF, HTML, Markdown, EPUB, CSV, text or images), or turn other files into PDFs, the conversion runs entirely on your phone. Files you pick, open with Scanvoy or share to Scanvoy for converting are copied into the app's private temporary storage only for the conversion, and those copies are deleted afterwards (and in any case the next time the app starts). New PDFs are added to your documents. Files converted from PDFs are kept in the app's private storage so you can open them again from "Recent conversions", until you delete them or for at most 45 days. Scanvoy never fetches anything from the internet to convert a file: pictures that a web page or document only links to online are left out.
3. Information you choose to enter
In Settings you can save your name and email address. They are stored only on your phone. Scanvoy uses them to fill in forms and signature fields, and puts them in signature-request emails that you send yourself. Your choices in the app (theme, language, page settings and similar) are also stored only on your phone.
4. When you share, export or request signatures
When you share, email, print or save a document, it goes to the app or service you pick, such as your email app, a cloud drive or a printer. That app's privacy policy then applies. A signature request is an ordinary email with the PDF attached, sent from your own email app. The person who signs returns it the same way. The request never passes through our systems.
5. Advertising (free version)
The free version of Scanvoy shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
| Data | Examples |
|---|---|
| Device and advertising identifiers | Android advertising ID, app set ID |
| Approximate location | Estimated from your IP address |
| App and ad interactions | App launches, ad views and taps |
| Diagnostics | Performance and crash information from the ads SDK |
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland or a US state with privacy laws, Scanvoy asks for your choices using Google's consent tool before ads load. Where your region requires it, you can change them at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings (Privacy > Ads). Learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Scanvoy Pro subscribers and lifetime owners don't see ads, and the app doesn't load any ads for them.
6. Purchases, trials and offers
Scanvoy Pro is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We never receive your card or payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether your account owns Pro, so it can unlock the features.
If you start a free trial, Scanvoy schedules one notification on your phone for about two days before the trial ends, so you can decide in time whether to keep Pro. Special offers shown in the app are timed on your phone. None of this sends information to us.
7. Crash reports and feedback
If Scanvoy crashes, a short technical report is saved on your phone: the error, the app version, the phone model and the Android version. Document names and contents are never included. The next time you open the app, you can read the report and choose to email it to us. Nothing is sent automatically. Feedback emails you send us are used only to answer you and improve the app, and we delete them when they're no longer needed.
8. Google Play features
Scanvoy uses Google Play's in-app review and in-app update features. The rating card and update prompts are shown by Google Play; we only learn about reviews you choose to post publicly on the store.
9. Permissions
- Internet and network state: for ads, purchases, app updates and downloading text-recognition models.
- Notifications: for document reminders you set and, if you start a free trial, the reminder before it ends. Android asks for your permission first.
- Run at startup: to restore your reminders after the phone restarts.
- Biometrics: for the optional app lock. Android checks your fingerprint or face, and Scanvoy never receives biometric data.
- Advertising ID: used by AdMob as described above.
Scanvoy doesn't ask for camera, storage, photos, contacts or location permissions. The scanner runs inside Google Play services, and you pick files and photos with Android's own pickers, which share only what you select.
10. Backups and new phones
Android's cloud backup saves only Scanvoy's settings, never your documents. When you move to a new phone with Android's phone-to-phone transfer, your documents and signatures can be copied directly between your devices. Scanvoy's own Backup & restore feature creates a single file wherever you choose to save it, and you control that file.
11. How long data is kept
Your documents stay on your phone until you delete them. Deleted documents stay in Scanvoy's trash for 30 days, then they're removed for good. Files converted from PDFs are kept for at most 45 days (you can delete them sooner from "Recent conversions"), and temporary copies made for a conversion are deleted when it's done. Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from your phone, except exports or backups you saved elsewhere.
12. Security
Documents are kept in storage that other apps can't read. You can also turn on the app lock, hide the app from screenshots and the recent-apps screen, and protect exported PDFs with AES-256 passwords. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone protected with a screen lock.
13. Children
Scanvoy is intended for adults and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age).
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws such as California's), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to or opt out of personalized advertising. Scanvoy doesn't store your personal data on our systems, so your documents are fully under your control on your phone. For advertising data, use the choices in section 5 or Google's tools. If you have any request or question, email contact@tapforgeapps.com and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Ad data collected by Google may be processed in the United States and other countries under Google's safeguards.
15. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. For important changes, we'll also let you know in the app or in its Google Play listing.
