1. Who we are
Ledgerlord (the “App”) is developed and published by TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC), based in Crown Point, Indiana, USA (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at contact@tapforgeapps.com.
2. Our core principle: local‑first
Ledgerlord is an offline‑first bookkeeping tool. All of the information you enter is stored only on your device using the Android WebView’s local storage and on‑device database (technically, localStorage and IndexedDB). This includes:
- Properties, tenants, units, lease terms, and contact details you enter
- Rent charges, payments, discounts, deposits, and per‑tenant ledgers
- Expenses, utilities, other income, bank entries, mileage, mortgage details, vendors, and work orders
- Generated documents, lease files, attached receipt photos and PDFs, and signatures
- Your landlord profile (name, phone, email, and logo) used on documents
- Your report and tax‑packet preferences (for example, how expense categories map to tax lines)
- Your app‑lock PIN, if you set one
We do not have access to this information. It does not pass through our servers.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or login to use the App. We do not operate analytics that profile you, and we do not maintain a database of your bookkeeping records.
4. Backup & restore (you choose where)
You can back up your data and restore it on another device. Backups are off unless you use them.
- Manual backup and restore: Android’s system file picker opens and you choose where the backup file goes (for example Google Drive, another cloud storage app, or your device’s files) and which file to restore.
- Automatic backup (optional, Pro): you pick a backup file once, and the App keeps that same file updated with your latest data. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
- In every case the backup is written directly from your device to the location you chose. It does not pass through any TapForge Studios server, and we never see its contents. Data you store with a provider such as Google Drive is handled under that provider’s terms, for example the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Reports, tax packets & sharing NEW
Reports such as the CPA Tax Packet, tax summaries, profit & loss statements, rent receipts, leases, and notices are generated on your device. A report only leaves your device when you choose to share it (for example by email to your tax preparer or tenant), save it to a location you pick, or open it in another app. Once shared, the file is handled by the app or person you sent it to. We never receive these files.
6. Advertising (free version)
The free version of Ledgerlord displays advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, which can include your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and limited usage signals. This is handled by Google, not by us.
- Consent: where required (for example in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and certain US states), the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for your choice before ads are requested. You can change it at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices.
- You can learn how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or limit ad personalization, in your device settings.
- Removing ads: purchasing the one‑time Pro upgrade removes ads and the related ad requests.
7. Purchases
The Pro upgrade is a one‑time in‑app purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Your payment is handled by Google Play; we do not receive or store your credit/debit card number or full payment details. Google provides the App only with the information needed to confirm your purchase. See the Google Privacy Policy.
8. Ratings & our other apps NEW
- In‑app ratings: the App may show Google Play’s rating card. It is displayed and handled entirely by Google Play. We only see ratings and reviews that are posted publicly on Google Play.
- More from TapForge: the App lists a few of our other apps. To show “Open” instead of “Get”, it checks on your device whether those specific apps are installed. This check is never sent to us or anyone else. Links to Google Play include a campaign tag, so Google Play can report to us, in aggregate, how many installs came from Ledgerlord.
9. App lock & biometrics
You may optionally protect the App with a PIN and/or biometric unlock (fingerprint or face). Any PIN you set is stored locally on your device and is never included in backups or exports. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by Android’s secure system; we never see, receive, or store your fingerprint or face data.
10. Permissions
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | To display ads and ask for ad consent (free version), process the Pro purchase, show the Google Play rating card, and reach the backup location you choose. Everyday bookkeeping works offline. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | To show the rent, utility, and lease reminders you set, and to re‑schedule them after your phone restarts. Reminders are created and delivered on your device. |
USE_BIOMETRIC | For the optional fingerprint/face app lock. |
Advertising ID (AD_ID, added by Google Mobile Ads) | Used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads in the free version. |
The camera and your files are only used when you choose to take a receipt photo or pick a file, through Android’s own camera and file‑picker screens.
11. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your bookkeeping records with third parties. Information is only processed by the service providers that make specific features work:
- Google AdMob and Google’s User Messaging Platform: advertising and ad consent in the free version
- Google Play: the Pro purchase and the in‑app rating card
- The storage location or app you choose (such as Google Drive or your email app): only when you back up, save, or share
12. Data retention & deletion
- On‑device data: remains until you delete it in the App, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App’s local data from your device.
- Backups and shared files: are stored wherever you put them. You can delete them from that location at any time. We hold no copy.
13. Security
Your data is stored in the App’s private storage area on your device and can be further protected with the optional app lock. Backup and shared files are stored by the service you choose, so keep those locations secure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
14. Children
Ledgerlord is a business and finance tool intended for adults (property owners and managers). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
15. Your choices & rights
Because your data lives on your device, you remain in control of it. You can view, edit, or delete records at any time inside the App, change your ad consent choice in Settings, and remove ads with Pro. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To make a request or ask a question, contact contact@tapforgeapps.com.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App or on our website.
