This Privacy Policy explains how the Fire Alarm Prep mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The App is published by TapForge Studios, a brand of 99 Cent Apps LLC (Crown Point, Indiana, USA). By installing or using the App you agree to this policy.

The short version

The App works offline and does not require an account.
We do not collect, sell, or share personal information. Your study progress and settings stay on your device.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier. You can turn ads off with a one‑time in‑app purchase.
Where required (e.g. the EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states), a Google consent form lets you choose how ads use your data.
Uninstalling the App removes the data it stored on your device.

Information we collect

We, the developer, do not collect personal information from you and do not operate any server that receives your data. The App has no login, no profile, and no analytics SDK operated by us. All of your activity — questions answered, mastery, streaks, flashcard schedules, calculator inputs, and preferences — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Data stored on your device

To make the App useful, the following is saved on the device only (using local storage such as a local database and app preferences):

Progress and performance (attempts, correct/incorrect, per‑domain mastery, streaks).
Flashcard review schedules and study history.
Settings (theme, notification preferences, daily goal) and ad/consent choices.

This data does not leave your device except as needed by the third‑party services below, and those services do not receive your study content.

Third‑party services

The App uses a small number of Google services. Their handling of data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google AdMob (advertising). In the free version, AdMob may collect and process device information such as a resettable advertising ID, IP address, general device data, and interaction with ads in order to serve and measure advertisements. More: how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) (consent). Presents a privacy/consent message where required and records your choice so ads are served accordingly.
Google Play Billing (purchases). Processes the optional one‑time purchase to remove ads / unlock features. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we do not receive or store your payment details.
Google Play Services. Standard platform components used to run ads, billing, and consent.

Advertising & your consent

If you are in a region that requires it (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or U.S. states with applicable privacy laws), the App shows a Google‑provided consent form the first time it runs. You can choose personalized or non‑personalized ads, and you can change or withdraw your choice later from the App’s settings. Removing ads via the in‑app purchase stops ad requests entirely.

Purchases

The App offers a single optional, one‑time in‑app purchase (for example “Remove Ads” / Pro). Transactions are managed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so the App can unlock the feature, but we never receive your card number or billing address.

Children’s privacy

The App is intended for adult professionals and students preparing for fire‑alarm certification exams. It is a general‑audience app and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Data security

Because your study data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device’s own protection (screen lock, encryption, OS updates). Data exchanged by the third‑party services above is transmitted over encrypted connections managed by those providers.

Your choices & rights

Reset your data in the App’s settings, or uninstall the App to remove locally stored data.
Control ad personalization by re‑opening the consent form from settings, or by resetting/limiting your device advertising ID in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Remove ads entirely with the in‑app purchase.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Since we hold none about you, such requests are best directed to Google for data processed by their services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves or as laws change. Material changes will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
