The short version. Fire Alarm ITM has no account, no sign-in and no server. Everything you study — your answers, exam history, lesson progress, flashcard scheduling, bookmarks and field log — is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. The single thing that leaves your phone is an advertising identifier used to serve ads, and that stops entirely the moment you buy Full Access.
Nothing. TapForge Studios operates no server for this app, and receives no data from it. We cannot see your progress, your scores, or anything you type into it. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no telemetry.
All of the following is written to your device's private app storage and never transmitted anywhere:
You can erase the study data at any time with Settings → Reset all progress, and the field log with Field log → Clear. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
If Android Backup is enabled on your device, Android may include this app's data in your own Google account backup. That is a Google service under your control, not ours, and we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your device settings.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. To do that, AdMob collects your device's advertising ID and standard technical information such as device type, coarse region and IP address, and uses it to select and measure ads. We never send AdMob anything about what you study.
Where the law requires it — broadly the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — the app shows a Google-certified consent form on first launch before any ad request is made. You can reopen it later at any time from Settings → Ad privacy and consent settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID from your Android settings.
Buying Full Access disables advertising completely. No ad SDK request is made and no advertising identifier is read.
See Google's policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Full Access is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play. Your payment details go to Google, never to us; we only receive Play's confirmation that the product is owned so the app can unlock. We never see your card, your name or your address.
After you pass a full-length mock exam the app may ask Google Play to show its standard review prompt, once. Google decides whether it actually appears. We are not told what you rate or whether you rated at all.
| Data | Collected by | Purpose | Leaves device |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID | Google AdMob | Advertising | Yes — free version only |
| Purchase state | Google Play | Unlocking Full Access | Handled by Google Play |
| Study progress and scores | — | Running the app | No |
| Field log entries and job names | — | Your own records | No, unless you export |
| Name, email, phone, location, contacts, files, photos | — | — | Never collected |
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Loading ads and contacting Google Play for billing. The study content itself is bundled and needs no connection. |
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID | Serving ads in the free version. |
com.android.vending.BILLING | The Full Access purchase. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Your daily study reminder. Only requested at the moment you switch reminders on, and only used for that. |
VIBRATE | A short tick when an answer is graded. |
The app can build a plain-text study record or field-log report and hand it to Android's share sheet. That only happens when you tap Export, and the text goes wherever you send it — your email app, your notes, your employer. It does not pass through us.
Fire Alarm ITM is a professional certification study aid intended for adults working in the fire alarm trade. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. It is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on request — the data is on your device and under your control. For the advertising ID, your rights sit with Google and with your device settings. If you are in the EEA, the UK, California or another region with a data protection law, you can exercise those rights against Google directly, and you can withdraw ad consent at any time in Settings → Ad privacy and consent settings, or remove ads permanently by buying Full Access.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the revised policy is posted at this address. Material changes will also be called out in the app's release notes on Google Play.
