There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your study data stays on your device. We run no servers that receive it. The only data that leaves your device is what Google AdMob collects to show ads (never shown after you buy the Pro upgrade), and what Google Play handles for purchases, backup and reviews.
To work offline and remember your progress, the app stores on your device: your answers and scores, accuracy by domain, spaced-review schedule, streak and streak freezes, daily-activity counts, bookmarks and flags, flashcard "known" marks, any exam in progress, your exam date and daily goal, your reminder setting and time, badges earned, and whether you have purchased Pro. None of this is sent to us.
If you have Android backup turned on, Android may copy this data to your Google Account's backup and restore it when you set up a new device. That is a Google service controlled by your device settings. Uninstalling the app deletes the on-device copy. You can clear everything at any time from More → Reset my progress.
The daily reminder is optional and off until you turn it on. Android asks for notification permission at that point. The reminder is scheduled on your device by the Android alarm system. No reminder data is sent to us or to any server. Turn it off in the app (Study plan) or in Android settings.
The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob: banner ads on browsing screens, occasional full-screen ads between practice rounds, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch to unlock a bonus. No ads appear during a timed exam, and none for the first day after you install. Google may collect and share these categories of data to serve and measure ads:
This data is transmitted using encryption in transit. Google's practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states), the app first shows a Google-certified consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) and respects your choice; you can change it later from More → Privacy choices where shown. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Purchasing Pro turns all advertising off, and with it the collection above.
Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. The app asks Google Play whether your Google account owns Pro so it can unlock the content, and so it can restore the purchase after a reinstall. Pending purchases unlock automatically when Google Play confirms them.
After a good study session the app may ask you to rate it using Google Play's in-app review. Google Play controls that dialog; the app does not learn whether you reviewed or what you wrote.
If you tap Share my score, the app prepares a short text message and hands it to the Android share sheet. It goes only to the app you pick. We never receive it.
If the app detects that it closed unexpectedly, it keeps a short note on your device. Nothing is sent automatically. If you tap Email report, your email app opens a draft addressed to us containing the app version, your device model, Android version, language setting, content counts and a short list of recent in-app steps, with no personal study data. You can read and edit it before sending. If you send it, we receive your email address and the message, and we use it only to fix the problem and reply to you.
CWI Prep is a professional certification study aid intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
You can clear in-app data (More → Reset my progress), turn off the reminder, change your ad consent, reset your advertising ID in Android settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything it stores. Because we do not hold your study data, we have nothing further to delete on our side; for data held by Google (ads, Play purchases, backups) use your Google account controls. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. To ask about anything we hold, such as a problem-report email you sent us, write to the address below.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
