The short version. BuildSmith runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers for it, we do not ask you to create an account, and we never collect your name, email address, or location. Your calculations stay on your phone. The only outside parties involved are Google’s advertising and billing services, described below.

The following is written to your device’s local app storage. It is not transmitted to us and it is removed when you uninstall the app:
You can clear all of it at any time by deleting saved calculations in the app, or by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it.
The free version of BuildSmith shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and operating-system details, coarse region, and interactions with ads. TapForge Studios does not receive this information in an identifiable form; we only see aggregate performance reporting.
Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own policies:
Where required by law — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app presents a consent form via Google’s User Messaging Platform before personalised ads are requested. You can reopen that form at any time from Settings → Privacy → Privacy options to change or withdraw your choice.
You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier in Android under Settings → Google → Ads, or remove advertising entirely by purchasing BuildSmith Pro.
BuildSmith Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Payment is handled entirely by Google; we never see or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment credential. The app receives only a confirmation that the purchase exists so it can unlock Pro features on your device.
Every calculator and reference sheet works offline. The app uses your network connection only to request ads, to show the consent form, and to verify your Pro purchase with Google Play.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use your data for any purpose beyond operating the app as described here.
BuildSmith is a professional trade tool intended for adults working in construction and related trades. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us and we will address it.
Because the app keeps your data on your own device and does not transmit it to us, the main protection is your device itself. We recommend keeping a screen lock enabled and your Android version up to date.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since we hold no personal data about you, these requests are best directed to Google for advertising and purchase records. You can delete everything the app itself stores by uninstalling it. BuildSmith provides estimates and reference information for planning purposes. Always verify quantities and code requirements against the governing code, engineered plans, and manufacturer data for your specific job.
