1. Who we are
Ledgerlord (the “App”) is developed and published by TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC), based in Crown Point, Indiana, USA (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at contact@tapforgeapps.com.
2. Our core principle: local‑first
Ledgerlord is an offline‑first bookkeeping tool. By default, all of the information you enter is stored only on your device using the Android WebView’s local storage and on‑device database (technically, localStorage and IndexedDB). This includes:
- Buildings/properties, tenants, units, lease terms, and contact details you enter
- Rent charges, payments, discounts, deposits, and per‑tenant ledgers
- Expenses, utilities, other income, bank entries, mileage, and vendors
- Generated documents, receipts, lease files, attached receipt images, and signatures
- Your landlord profile (name, phone, email, and logo) used on documents
- Your app‑lock PIN, if you set one
We do not have access to this information. It does not pass through our servers.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or login to use the App. We do not operate analytics that profile you, and we do not maintain a database of your bookkeeping records.
4. Optional cloud backup
Ledgerlord offers an optional cloud backup feature so you can protect your records and move them to a new device. This feature is off by default and only runs if you choose to enable it.
- If you enable cloud backup, a copy of your bookkeeping data is transmitted over the internet and stored using Google Firebase (a Google Cloud service) so that it can be restored later.
- You control this feature. You can choose not to use it, and you can request deletion of any backed‑up copy (see “Your choices & rights” below).
- Data handled through Firebase is subject to Google’s Firebase privacy and security terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
If you never enable cloud backup, your data stays on your device.
5. Advertising (free version)
The free version of Ledgerlord displays advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, which can include your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and limited usage signals. This is handled by Google, not by us.
- You can learn how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and, where required, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
- Removing ads: purchasing the one‑time Pro upgrade removes ads from the App.
6. Purchases
The Pro upgrade is a one‑time in‑app purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Your payment is handled by Google Play; we do not receive or store your credit/debit card number or full payment details. Google provides us only with the information needed to confirm and validate your purchase. See the Google Privacy Policy.
7. App lock & biometrics
You may optionally protect the App with a PIN and/or biometric unlock (fingerprint or face). Any PIN you set is stored locally on your device. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by Android’s secure system — we never see, receive, or store your fingerprint or face data. Your biometric information never leaves your device.
8. Permissions
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
INTERNET | To display ads (free version), to process the Pro purchase through Google Play, and to run optional cloud backup if you enable it. The App functions offline for everyday bookkeeping. |
9. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your bookkeeping records with third parties for their own marketing. Information is only processed by the service providers that make specific features work, namely:
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version
- Google Play — processing the Pro in‑app purchase
- Google Firebase — only if you turn on optional cloud backup
10. Data retention & deletion
- On‑device data: remains until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App’s local data from your device.
- Cloud backup (if used): you can delete a backup from within the App where that option is provided, or by emailing us at contact@tapforgeapps.com and we will delete the associated backup.
11. Security
Your data is stored in the App’s private storage area on your device and can be further protected with the optional app lock. Cloud backups, if enabled, are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored using Google’s secure infrastructure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
12. Children
Ledgerlord is a business and finance tool intended for adults (property owners and managers). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Your choices & rights
Because your data lives on your device, you remain in control of it. You can view, edit, or delete records at any time inside the App. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (for example, to access or delete personal data). To make a request or ask a question, contact contact@tapforgeapps.com.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
